A cat, a poem, a dilema.
Okay, after yesterday, nothing ranting. I have good news, and bad news. The bad news: Sarengeti cost me $98 in vet fees today. She is going to the 4H fair with Michael. The good news: I found out what she is. She is a Bengal. It is a cross between an Asian Leopard Cat and a domestic cat, usually a Abyssinian-type cat. The vet said they go for about $600. I found out that show quality kittens of recognizable parents go for $1500-3000. The bad news: Michael is taking her to the 4H fair. I guess I have a new house cat. Sorry, Del. You are regulated to the great outdoors. Cetera will not be happy. Saren does not like her.

Oh, and a new poem. A departure for me. Metred rhyme and an odd subject. And, the challenge I put up at allpoetry.com has gone unanswered. I offered 50 points to the first person to figure out "The Black King". So far, I have three people think it is about love, and one of those suggested HP with the keys in the first book. *shakes head. will they never broaden their horizons?*

The idea of the contest was that the host gave the title, and the entrant writes the poem. Title is self-evident. The poem is out there.

Black Moon

Silently, through the deep night,
He slides in and out.
Miscalculating vast scales,
The cause of the rout.
How to extricate one’s soul
From the depths of Hell,
Would astound the mere mortal
And the gods as well.

Sweat glistens his on his forehead:
He now sets his pace,
As faster now, yet slower,
He searches for grace.
He approaches completion
His job now well done
And glances out the window
Looking for the sun.

Frantic recalculation,
He has missed the mark.
Groping for understanding,
Sleep is robbed by dark.
And through the empty wasteland
Seeing and yet blind,
The null space robs one’s reason,
Plays tricks on the mind.

Now vision quickly clearing,
His caresses light,
The goal is safely seated;
Rest is now a right.
The Black Moon sits in her berth
Done escaping wars
Briefly stopping, until she
Returns to the stars.
